Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

Greeting… Hi-Low (hello) and welcome to the best blog you will read today,

This week was our final Tramp! Can you believe how fast it’s gone?! We started Day 1 with a 9 and a half hour hike to Sailsbury Lodge. On the way, we summited Mt Arthur and Gordons Pyramid which was something special that the whole group enjoyed.

Day 2 started off with a day walk to Peel Ridge where we also stopped off at Bishops Cave and did a spontaneous worship song. We had time back at the hut to work on sharing God’s word with the group and ended the day with a surprise glow stick party- shout out to the best Brit on the team who supplied the goods for Guy Fawkes.

Spending our last morning in a hut together was pretty surreal! We all ended the hike feeling content and ready to eat our traditional post-hike Mexican - Yummo!! 😋

Back at basecamp we enjoyed a trip to the beach and ended with trying a kiwi classic - a real fruit ice cream!! A lot of the teams firsts and is now a favourite. A big thanks to Norm and Christy for treating us!

From what you’ve learned this week, how will this impact your life?

BIANCA- One thing that stood out to me this week was not to say, “I am too young”, that I can influence my environment and don’t have to think I know to less. I want to be more confident in sharing what I know and believe. I’m good enough because I’m chosen by God to share my faith.

SEAN- I learned why I act how I act and why I think and how I make my decisions (based on what I make decisions).

HELEN- This week, we climbed Mount Arthur (altitude 1870m). I was really worried before that, but I prayed before the hike and during the hike. Finally, we managed to do that! Pray instead of worrying, no problems are bigger than my God >< 👍!

SIMONE- This week we talked about how what matters for us the most impacts every aspect of our lives. For me this changed my perspective on how I set priorities and this definitely will impact my life in the future.

PHILIPP- I learned more about myself, so I am trusting myself more and the decisions that I’ll make.

JAKOB- Little things matter. I want to do what I say and pay attention to little things to remain with a pure heart according to God’s word.

DAYNA- The little decisions we make in our life should align to the purpose God has called all of us to: Sharing the Good News! Gods heart is for loving and saving the people of this world. Therefore, if we don’t love the people God loves, we don’t share His heart and cannot live as He’s called us.

LYDIA- This week I was encouraged by how the small things matter. In my words, actions and how I live my life, every detail matters. People are watching. Even if things appear “small” they can have great impact for the Kingdom.

What is a special moment you experienced with your teammates this week?

BIANCA- When we were in the Bishops Cave and started to sing “Light of the world”. This moment I really enjoyed. It was just worshipping God in a group and I got very calm because singing means a lot for me.

SEAN- Singing light of the world in a cave where it was dark.

HELEN- As we climbed up the Mount Arthur, we saw some snow on the trail! And this is my first time ever, seeing real snow! My teammates and I had a snow fight on the mountain, that was so fun! (Another first-time-ever!)

SIMONE- Having a lot of last times as a team this week (last tramp, last meal in a hut…), it was even more special to have a first time as well. This first was going up to two summits on Monday. It was special to me because having this view around us showed me just once more how incredible beautiful God created this world and what an honour it is to be part of His creation.

PHILIPP- The summit of Mount Arthur where it was very beautiful, it felt like being on top of the world.

JAKOB- Encouraging my teammates with something God placed on my heart to share and to pray for them in a huddle.

DAYNA- So many special moments filled this week! The one that stands out to me the most was the snowball fight before reaching the top of Mount Arthur my teammates are the best <3 God has shown me I have limitless capabilities and I was able to reflect on his mighty character with 360°views of His hills, mountains and able to see the mines of Mauria (any other Lord of the Rings fans?)

LYDIA- Summiting Mount Arthur together as a team was a real highlight. The snowball fight was an added bonus! On top, the views were vast and left me in awe of our creator God!
