On the Rock(s Hut)

Grüezi mittenand (Hello everyone)

On Monday we went on our third tramp. First we were going with our van to the “Mount Richmond Forest Park”. Then we started hiking from a dam to the Rocks Hut. On the way we learned to know each other deeper and better while asking questions about who we are and who we want to be. While hiking we saw some beautiful scenery and God’s creation. Some parts of the paths were kind of a little stream which made it more of an experience. Arriving at the hut we had a warm soup before we went out again and climbed to a lookout. It was very beautiful and peaceful up there. We used the scenery for taking wonderful pictures and a nice time for conversations. What’s better after a long hiking tour than having a delicious meal cooked by Norm?! - yeah! This week we didn’t have to cook, Norm served us. Best cooker of the two days! :) We went to bed with a clear sky with many beautiful stars, we had a surprise at the morning: many dark clouds and afterwards big rain!

This rainy day was kind of a challenge for us mentally and physically - staying in a small hut (we got some more friends) and we discussed deep questions. A good distraction was a little bush robin, who Sean named Kevin. Suddenly there was a whole photograph team outside trying to get the best shot of this bird. With the remainder of time we played cards to get a mental break.

By the way, we don’t need an alarm clock—at 3 a.m. every night, a bottle dropped down and woke everyone up.

New day, better weather, we started the hike back to the van. We climbed a little rock for a group photo and an amazing view. The theme of the day was to put God as the foundation of our lives. While our last day hiking, Helen had a nice “meeting” with a water pipe. You can see Helen and the pipe on one of our photos. What could be the story behind Helen, the pipe and her camera? Please write your ideas in the comments. Christy waited at basecamp with a sweet surprise for us: a delicious pumpkin pie! Yummadoodle<3.

The next day we rested from the hike with Bible study about the Holy Spirit and we had a chilled evening. After a long time of talking on our tramp at the beginning of the week, we had some time of reflection on our own at the weekend which everyone found very valuable and interesting. Fortunately, the weather was great and we spent time outside sitting on the grass or going for a walk on the hill next to Base

.

This Sunday it was our last service at the Hope Church. Best church ever:) TY for welcoming us<3

A great thank you to Lydia for helping us with the formulation.

Prayer Requests:

1. For our last tramp (started Monday), that we can enjoy every moment, for strength and that nobody gets hurt.

2. For us to make the most out of the coming days, with only two weeks left on our programme.

Translation: Hello all of you, four weeks are gone now and I really enjoy this time here. The hiking tours are fantastic, and I learn here a lot about me and my faith. A lot of thanks to my home group for the lovely letters which encourage me often. Greetings to the other end of the worlds especially to the persons in my family who have a birthday :)
